Once you’ve authenticated, we’ll ask for your name and email address. We keep in contact with all Nimble Quotes users via email. Please use one you check often.

Next you’ll see one of four pages. That’s right, we’ve kept it simple. No software to learn. Really is as easy as checking off items on a To Do list.

Break the Ice! Use Quotes to Connect with your Twitter Audience

Nimble Quotes George Smith Patton

Has a quote or series of quotes ever resonated with you?  Has one ever stirred your emotions, made you stop and think for a minute?  If so, you’re not alone.  Meaningful, uplifting quotes have inspired countless people and have even, at times, prompted them to action.

Inspire and Impact

A great advantage of using quotes in your Twitter feed is their inspirational nature.  Quotes can affect us, motivate us, push us to action.  When you tweet a positive, powerful quote, you break the ice with your audience.  You start a conversation that doesn’t hinge on promoting your business.  This conversation could be the first step toward building a relationship with your audience.

Quotes Spark a Connection

Want to connect emotionally with your followers and elicit a response from them?  Admittedly, this is a struggle at times.  It’s hard to know the right thing to say to influence others.  That’s when using quotes to supplement your Twitter account comes in handy.  There are myriads of quotes available on virtually any topic, emotion and industry imaginable.  Once you tweet the quote from your Twitter account, you begin to connect directly with other people’s emotions.  This connection motivates them to action, and before you know it your tweet has been re-tweeted and discussed.  And how rewarding it feels to truly engage with people this way!

Ready to Begin?

So what’s holding you back?  If you love a good inspirational quote and want to break the ice and begin truly connecting with your Twitter followers, don’t hesitate!  Start posting quotes that resonate with you and your audience.  Remember to include the person who said or wrote the quote.  It’s important to attribute the quote to the rightful author.  You’ll want to experiment with different quotes and the times and days you post them.  Depending on your audience, it can matter which time of day your content appears on your Twitter feed.  You don’t want to overwhelm your readers with quotes – the quotes are not meant to be your only content.  They are meant to supplement your content.  Think of quotes as part of your Twitter content like a bass guitar in a rock song – not the main attraction, but supportive to the rest of the song.  Good luck and let us know the quotes that resonate best with your audience!

If having quotes in your Twitter feed seems like the type of content that would work well for your brand, give Nimble Quotes a try.  Sign up for our 30-day free trial and watch the positive results come pouring in.  You’ll get 1-8 quotes per day from a choice of 10+ categories and the ability to add your own hashtags.  Best yet, no software to learn and you never have to reschedule a thing.  Learn more at www.nimblequotes.com!  Not ready?  Sign up for the Nimble Quotes newsletter instead.

What is Hashtag Power?

Nimble Quotes: What is Hashtag Power

Using hashtags on Twitter will help you contribute to the conversation on that topic. It will help the people interested and searching for information on that subject, industry or geographical area, be able to find you.

What are hashtags?

A hashtag is a word with a number sign or hash sign in front of it. A hashtag for Toronto, for example, is #Toronto. The hashtag for coffee is #coffee. Learn more about hashtags and how to use them by reading this blog post.

How to use hashtags with quotes

Our users have come up with some really inventive and interesting ways to use hashtags with their Nimble Quotes. This has been a powerful way to get them into the conversation. We named this feature “hashtag power”.

Default hashtags

The term “default hashtag” is a term we use with Nimble Quotes. Each one of our quote categories has been researched and compiled carefully. They are vetted for quality and content. These quotes are secular without a partisan, political or religious point of view. Free of questionable, controversial or offensive material.

Each category represents a topic. This could be an industry like Real Estate, a lifestyle choice like fitness or an interest like books/reading. As you learned earlier, including a hash tag appropriate to the topic will help people who are searching to find it.

To help Nimble Quotes users get into the conversation, we’ve compiled a few ‘default’ hashtags for each quote category. Again, besides keeping your Twitter account active with positive, engaging quotes, we want to help you get into the conversation applicable to your interest or business. Including appropriate hashtags after each quote is one way we help.

Examples of default hashtags:
Here are Nimble Quotes categories and an example of their default hashtags:

Real Estate quotes category:
#realestate, #home, #property

Fitness quotes category:
#fitness, #health, #healthyliving

Books/reading quotes category:
#books, #book, #reading

Using your own hashtags

With Nimble Quotes, you have the option of choosing to have the category (or categories, you are able to choose as many categories of quotes you want) default hashtags, using your own hashtags or both.

Here is an example:

In the Nimble Quotes system, I’ve chosen the Business quotes category. I already know each category comes with a set of default hashtags. However, my business focuses on small businesses in Toronto. I want hashtags that help get me into those conversations.  I chose to have both the default hashtags and my own custom hashtags. I chose the hashtags #Toronto for my city and #SMB for small/medium business. I type my custom hashtags into  the field under “custom hashtag”. Once I save this setting, my business quotes will have one hashtag each time they appear in my stream of either the default category hashtag, or my custom hashtag choices.

What is Author Choice?

Nimble Quotes: What is Author Choice

Love quotes, but not from “that person”? No problem. Nimble Quotes takes customization seriously. Every subscription level provides you with the option to select or omit any author from your Twitter feed.

How to use Author Choice

In this section, you’ll learn, step-by-step,  how to use Author Choice.

  1. Go to www.nimblequotes.com and sign in with Twitter.
  2. Once in your account, click “settings” at the top right of your screen. A drop-down menu will appear like so:
    Nimble Quotes Author Choice menu
  3. Click on “Authors”, a screen will show up with all authors in alphabetical order. Quickly find the ones you want to exclude by using the search field at the top right:

  4. In this example, Abraham Lincoln is unchecked. That means no quotes by Abraham Lincoln will appear in this person’s Twitter feed.
Nimble Quotes example of using Author Choice
  5. Repeat as often as you like to ensure all authors you don’t want to have quotes from are unchecked.
  6. Quotes from those authors will not appear in your Twitter feed from Nimble Quotes.
  7. Update your settings at any time as often as you like.

Why Author Choice?

We had to find a name for the people who have spoken or written these quotes. We chose the term “author” even though many of the people who have famous and uplifting quotes would never call themselves an author, and perhaps they’ve never written a book.

Not-so famous quotes

We have users who prefer not to have quotes by some of the more ‘famous’ authors, opting instead for quotes from lesser known people. They simply check off the people they don’t want quotes from. As a result the quotes in their Twitter feed are from people that are not as famous or well-known as, say Oprah. For these users, it fits that they are sharing content that is not widely known. This helps them be a source of discovery for their audience.

Famous quotes

We have users who feel a little uncomfortable with quotes that are not from very famous people. Please keep in mind that it is not the subject or quote content that they feel uncomfortable with, rather it is that they do not know who the author is. Those users choose to have only quotes from authors they are familiar with.

Get started today with your 30-day trial of Nimble Quotes. Check out Nimble Quotes in action on these Twitter accounts: @jenkellyjen and @newimarketing.

What is Time Control?

Nimble Quotes: What is Time Control

The timing for Nimble Quotes works in a few different ways.

When you sign in – if you decide not to change a thing, the default timing will cycle your three Nimble Quotes out per 24hrs based on the Eastern Time Zone (because we’re based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) from the Inspirational category. You can change the number of quotes, choose from 1-8 per 24hrs. Craving something more personalized? We’ve got a lot of choices around time control. Here are your options:

Time zone

Have an audience or want to build an audience in a different time zone than yours? Choose that time zone.

Days of the week

You decide if you want quotes (from 1 – 8) in your Twitter feed 7 days a week, only on weekends or just Mondays. Choose any other combination that works for you.

Time window

If the 24hr window is too much, you can change it. Our most popular time window is between 7am – 10pm, but remember – people all around the world are interested in the subjects you tweet about, consider opening your time window to 24hrs. It is always your choice, so simply set the start time of your window, and end time. Your quotes will only appear during this time.

Specific Tweet times

Would you rather your quotes go out at very specific times during the day? Choose exact times, down to the minute.

Pause/resume

This one has become a real hit. Pause your quotes at any time. Resume at any time. No need to reschedule a thing. Use this when you’re ready to tweet live from an event, join a tweet chat or get into a conversation with someone on Twitter. Nimble Quotes will never interrupt you.
